So, first things first -

I GRADUATED ON SATURDAY!!!!! Wooooooooo me! It was seriously one of the best days ever, and I am SO proud of myself. There were a lot of points in my academic career where I was a hair away from giving up for one reason or another (changing schools, changing majors, etc), but I knew in the back of my mind that I would regret it and that the end result would totally be worth it. Finally being able to put "Bachelors of Business Administration" on my resume is a damn good feeling. Maybe one day I'll go back for my Masters...maybe. I'd prefer to find a job that would help pay for it, because I certainly don't have $30,000+ laying around and I don't feel that I need to add to my already astronomical student loans. For now I am satisfied with my achievements and will enjoy my added free time. More time for art related things...yay me!!

Which brings me to the reason I decided to post on here (other than sheer boredom) - today I purchased a drawing tablet! Since I'm a digital drawing n00b and also a broke-ass graduate, I went with the Wacom Bamboo Splash. I ordered it off of Amazon...it was like $20 cheaper on there than it was on the manufacturer's website, and shipping was free if you did the 5-8 business day super saver option (which was more difficult for me to do than it should have been, since I'm a pretty impatient person). It's a pretty basic drawing tablet and comes with drawing/painting software. One of the software titles it comes with, Art Rage, I remember having on my iPad and I really liked it. It was just difficult to effectively draw on the iPad though because the styluses were so fat. So I'm excited to mess around with this when it comes and seeing what kind of stuff I can create! And for about $60, I don't think its a bad deal. One day when I'm making thousands of dollars, and given that my digital art isn't completely hideous, I'll probably spring for one of their Intuos tablets. They come in much bigger sizes but START in the $200+ range for the smallest one. Ain't nobody got time fo dat.

So starting next week, start looking for some new art pieces! Yay!

Honestly, I don't know how often I'll use this blog. I'll try to write a little something in it each time I update the site, if I have anything worth mentioning. Right now I'm just glad that I got this thing up and running! I wanted to create this about a month ago, but got stuck on possible names. I got tired of racking my brain so I just used...my name. Why was that so hard? Who knows.

Like the front page says, it's pretty much just photos right now. I don't really have any of my previous art handy. Most of it is from high school and buried somewhere in the depths of my parents' house. So I guess I will just have to start anew with that stuff. My photography is relatively new anyway, so it'll all be recent stuff from here on out I guess.

I didn't watermark anything yet, and I really hope that doesn't bite me in the ass. I'll start doing it eventually...but I was just too lazy to do it. Plus, like I said, I wanted to get this up and running...and that would have taken me longer. And I'm sure EVERYONE WOULD HAVE BEEN HEARTBROKEN. I was just saving you all. You're welcome.

Well, that's all I have for nearly 12:30 in the morning. I have to get my ass to bed. Goodnight interwebz!
